Let f : M ! M be a di？？eomorphism on a closed C1 manifold. Let ¤ be a transitive set. In this paper, we show that (i) C1-generically, f has the shadowing property on a locally maximal¤ if and only if ¤ is hyperbolic, (ii) f has the C1-stably shadowing property on ¤ if and only if ¤ is hyperbolic.
