Distributive Equity and Class Position in South Korea

This paper is designed to test the hypothesis that the rising tide of growth will raise all boats in Korea, remapping its structural pressures. Stipulating some of the most salient structural implication of economic growth, the analysis explores what circumstances coin the issue of distributive equity, and what impact the relationship has on the class position. Two arguments are made: that distributive equity can be looked upon as the socially acceptable degree of fairness in the systems of capital accumulation, resource use, and economic rewards; and that sociological similarity between the objective and subjective sides of the class position is critical to the formation of a sustainable development based on widespread consensus, rather than force.
