This study is to apply the subjective learning process,of which philosophy is that students do solve problems themselves independently in order to cope with the unpredictable modern society, to the class of social studies. And it aims at developing self learning ability , i.e., the subjective learning ability and attitude , required in our lifelong learning society. To achieve such a goal, this paper explores the theory of subjective learning process, examines and analyzes the process of social studies class. And then exhibiting one possible exploratory class model of social studies, it suggests some discipline needed for the development of class. The pillar of the subjective learning is how to establish and suggest preparatory homework . Therefore, the basic viewpoint of establishing preparatory homework is settled and applied. Moreover the outline of setting homework is suggested and the methods are illustrated. As a result, the attitude of logical expression is settled as the self learning ability(subjective learning ability) is enhanced. Also higher mental functions such as generalizing ability and reasoning power, which is to extract principles by analyzing and examining, and learning achievement are generally promoted. And it shows that the improvement of academic achievement can be fostered by the cooperation rather than by competition.
