This study is to analyse a vertical connection in earth science of elementary, middle and high school science textbooks in the 7th science under the assumption that the next revision sticks to the system of the current common basic curriculum (1 through 10 grades). For the purpose, this study conducted a 4-step analysis, targeting a total of 20 current science textbooks for 3rd to 10th grade students. (1) To analyse connection between the items to be learned in elementary, middle and high schools, it classified the units of earth science into four parts: geology, oceanography, meteorology, and astronomy (2) It selected basic subjects of each part needed in learning. (3) It analysed connection between each level according to different subjects using a connection model. (4) It presented a proper direction of revision based on the data analysed. The results of each part analysed are presented as follows: For geology, as earth science deals with it almost every level, problems of repetition and differences in subjects of mineral and rocks, and soil appear. As oceanography is dealt with in only three levels, it is difficult for students to acquire basic concepts. As meteorology focuses mainly on ‘change of weather , there is no integrated approach to hydrodynamic. As much of astronomy is dealt with in almost every level, problems of repetition and difference in ‘the sun and the solar system and ‘the moon appear. For connective learning of earth science, repetition and difference should be reduced and earth science should be approached in integrated manner through an effective and proper arrangement of units instead of being learning in four separate parts.
