학교 음악교육이 성인생활에 미치는 영향 및 개선방안 연구

The Effect of School Music Education on Adult Life and Its Future Directions: Centering on Curriculum of Music in High Schools

The subjects of the study were 200 adults in their early twenties who completed the music program of high schools though they did not major in music.We studied what effects their high school music education had on their adult life. The results of the study are summarized as follows: First, the subjects who had music education for which the seventh curriculum was applied answered that they want to have access to diverse genres of music embedded in their life such as singing songs, music appreciation, playing instruments and understandingmusic That is, itmeans theywantmusic education to be connected with their actual life. Second, they answered that there were many difficulties in learning to play different kinds ofmusical instruments. So, though fewadults can play instrumentswell, many of them want to learn to play instruments very well and expect to have interactions through solo or concert music performance and more time to play instruments in present music education. Third, they pointed out that music education should help them to enjoy music in their real life through club activities though it has little influence on adult life or no connection with it. Finally, based on the results above, this study suggests that diversified musical experiences should be given to students and expects that future music education for which the 2007 revised curriculumis applied will be effective.
