Let f : X ! X be a self-map of a connected ¯-nite polyhedron X. In this short note, we say that the mod H Nielsen number NH(f) is well-de¯ned without the algebraic con- dition f¼(H) µ H and that NH(f) is the same as the q-Nielsen number Nq(f) in any case.
