In this paper, we present characterizations of the power function distribution by the independence of record values. We es-tablish that X 2 POW(1; º) for º > 0; if and only if XL(n)XL(n) ¡ XL(n+1) and XL(n) are independent for n ¸ 1: And we prove that X 2POW(1; º) for º > 0; if and only if XL(n+1)XL(n) ¡ XL(n+1) and XL(n) are independent for n ¸ 1: Also we characterize that X 2 POW(1; º)for º > 0; if and only if XL(n) + XL(n+1)XL(n) ¡ XL(n+1) and XL(n) are independent for n ¸ 1:
