It is shown that f : R ! R satis¯es the following func-tional inequalities j(0.1) f(x) + f(y)j · jf(x + y)j;jf(x) + f(y)j · j2f(x + y2 (0.2) )j;jf(x) + f(y) ¡ 2f(x ¡ y2)j · j2f(x + y2(0.3) )j;respectively, then the function f : R ! R satis¯es the Cauchy functional equation, the Jensen functional equation and the Jensen quadratic functional equation, respectively.
