복지문화 프로그램의 일환으로서 템플스테이 활용방안

A Study on the Application of Templestay as a Program of Culture & Welfare.

우리나라는 급격한 경제성장과 사회변동으로 물질적 풍요를 가져왔지만 이로 인해 계층간 지역간 갈등을 초래하게 되었다. 뿐만 아니라 특정계층에 대한 사회적 배재가 심화되고 인간보다 물질을 우선시하는 비인간화 현상을 초래하게 되었다. 이러한 사회현상 속에서 인간성을 회복하고 삶의 질을 향상시 키며 문화적 취약계층을 배려하고 소통할 수 있는 복지의 문화화 내지 문화의 복지화에 대한 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 또한 지금까지의 사회복지가 물질적으로 균등한 배분에 기초한 복지사업들이 주를 이루어 왔다면, 앞으로의 복지문화는 진정한 자아실현을 목표로 개개인의 삶의 질을 높이고 풍요로운 삶을 지원하는데 목적을 두고 실천되어야 할 것이다. 현재 주5일 근무제가 실시되어 여가 및 관광이 활성화되고 있고 근로자만이 아니라 복지대상자에게도 복지관광이 시행되어 그성과가 입증되고 있는데, 템플스테이를 복지관광의 측면에서 뿐만 아니라 현대인들이 진정한 자아를 찾아서 인생의 참된 의미를 회복하도록 유도할 수 있는 복지문화 프로그램으로 활용할 수도 있을 것이다. 한국사회의 새로운 문화현상으로 자리매김하고 있는 템플스테 이를 복지문화 프로그램으로 활용하고 연계하는 방안을 모색해 보려고 하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 이 논문에서는 우선 복지문화의 개념을 알아보고, 복지문화의 이론적 배경으로 정상화(Normalization), 인클루젼(Inclusion,당사자 참가), 임파워먼트(Empowerment, 역량강화), 삶의 질 (Quality of life), 복지의 문화화 및 문화의 복지화, 복지의 교육과 공동체 형성 등에 대해 고찰해 보았다. 그리고 템플스테이의 연구동향과 더불어 템플스테이의 현황과 프로그램에 대해 살펴보고, 복지문화 프로그램으로서 템플스테이 유형을 복지관광 프로그램과 정신문화복지 프로그램으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 이와 같이 복지문화 프로그램의 일환으로서 템플스테이의 활용 방안에 대해 연구함으로써, 템플스테이 프로그램이 복지문화의 지평을 확대하고 정신문화복지의 향상에도 기여할 수 있다는 것이 본 논문의 취지이다.

This Paper is the rapid economic growth and drastic change of society has brought about material affluence along with the social conflicts in terms of region and class of people in Korea. In addition, that caused the dehumanization trend of society which put more value on material than humanity i.e human value. So we are urgently need the cultural welfare policy which restores humanity and upgrades the quality of life in the degenerated social phenomena. Especially we have to take care of and protect the weak in order to have a good communication and harmony among every class of the society. So far the welfare policy has put the emphasis on the equal distribution of material. However, the future welfare policy should be placed more emphasis on the realization of true self which upgrade the quality of each individual. In that respect, templestay can be applied as a good, mental welfare program which overcomes the alienated humanity and restores the true meaning of life through finding the original, true self. After establishment of five-working day a week, the vitalization of leasure and sightseeing has been popular in Korea. So the favorable outcome of the welfare sightseeing has been proved not only for workers but for the welfare recipient. Accordingly, in this paper, I would like to seek a plan to apply templestay that considered to be a newly established cultural phenomenon as a welfare and culture program in Korea. Firstly, in this paper, I defined the concept of welfare culture and examined the theoretical background such as normalization, inclusion, empowerment, quality of life, enculturation of welfare, welfare-centered culture, the education of culture and the formation of community. The recent study of templestay mostly centered on religious and sightseeing aspect. However, I reviewed templestay in terms of welfare culture. Further more, I examined the present situation and program of templestay as two patterns of welfare culture. One is sightseeing welfare program and the other is spiritual welfare program. Especially, I emphasized that templestay program will broaden the horizon of welfare culture and contribute to the spiritual welfare culture by the application of templestay.
