미디어리터러시가 창의적 사고 및 21세기 핵심역량에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Media Literacy Skills on Creative Thinking and 21st Century Key Competencies

지식기반 사회의 도래와 함께 정보와 지식과 정보의 가치가 확산되면서 정보 및 커뮤니게이션 수단으로서 미디어를 읽고 이해하며 선용할 수 있는 미디어리터러시의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 이 연구는 미디어리터러시가 미래 학습역량으로 강조되고 있는 창의적 사고와 21세기 핵심역량에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 파악하기 위한 것이다. 연구문제 해결을 위해 서울시 소재 중고등학교에 재학 중인 학생 600명을 대상으로 개별 면접조사를 실시했다. 연구결과, 미디어리터러시 는 창의적 사고력 형성에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 미디어리터러시의 하부 요인들 중에서는 특히 비판 적 사고력과 관계가 높게 나타났다. 미디어리터러시는 또한 21세기 핵심역량에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

As the value of information and knowledge has appreciated greatly with the advent of knowledge-based society, the importance of media literacy skills is continually increasing. The purpose of this study is to confirm the effect of media literacy skills on creative thinking and 21st century key competencies emphasized for the future. In order to explore the research questions, I conducted a survey with 600 middle- and high-school students residing in Seoul. The research results show that media literacy skills had a positive effect on development of creative thinking. Of the sub-factors of media literacy skills, the effect of critical thinking on creative thinking was particularly large. Media literacy skills also had a positive effect on 21st century key competencies.
