성인 온라인 학습자들의 스마트러닝에 대한 준비도 및 요구

Adult Learners’ Readiness and Needs towards Smart Learning

본 연구에서는 향후 스마트러닝의 확장과 수용을 위해 성인학습자들의 스마트러닝에 대한 준비도와 요구를 알아보았다. 이를 위해 K원격대학 성인학습자들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 총 1,519명이 응답하였다. 연구 결과, 학습자들은 원격강의 수강을 위해 스마트폰을 PC 다음으로 많이 활용하고 있다는 것과 아직은 함께하는 학습활동 보다는 개인적으로 진행하는 학습활동 및 교수, 튜터와의 개별적 상호작용을 선호하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 실험 실습 혹은 상호작용 활동을 포함한 학습활동의 선호도에 있어서는 연령별, 학과별 차이가 다소 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 기반으로 학습자들에게 수용적인 스마트러닝 프로그램을 개발, 운영하기 위해 스마트폰을 포함한 다양한 모 바일기기의 활용을 통한 접근성 향상, 상호작용을 위한 학습활동의 점진적 확장, 그리고 연령대별, 학과별 차이를 고려 한 적용이 제안되었다.

This study examines adult learners’ readiness and demand towards smart learning for future expansion and receptiveness of smart learning. For this purpose, a survey was conducted involving 1,519 adult learners in K open university. The survey suggests that learners use smart phones the second most after personal computers, and that they still prefer studying alone and having interactions with professors and tutors individually. It also shows that there was slight difference between age and majors when it comes to learning activities, including experiments or interactions. Based on this study, the followings were suggested in order to develop and operate learner-receptive smart learning programs: improvement of accessibility using various mobile gadgets including smart phones, gradual expansion of learning activities for interactions, applications that consider age and major differences.
