The Theories and Actual Practices of Education for International Understanding

본 연구에서는 국제이해교육의 이론과 실제 프로그램을 살펴본 후, 국제이해교육의 발전방향을 제시 하였다. 국제이해교육은 인권의식, 지속가능한 발전의 가치관, 문화적 다양성을 인정하며 타문화를 이해하고 존중하려는 태도 등을 기르는 교육이다. 국제 이해 교육이 중요함에도 불구하고 실제 학교 교육 현장에서는 국제이해교육의 현황은 여전히 미비한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 국제이해교육을 강화하여 국제적인 무한 경쟁시대에 국가 경쟁력을 강화함과 동시에 국제적인 감각과 지구촌 의식을 갖춘 세계시민을 양성하는 것이 중요하다는 것을 강조하였다. 또한, 정부차원에서 국제이해교육을 지속 적으로 실시할 수 있도록 학습 자료를 제공하고 멀티미디어나 인터넷, 사이버교육 등을 활용한 교수학 습방법을 연구하는 것도 제안하였다.This study covers the theories and actual practices of ‘Education for International Understanding’, and provides a means to improve it. ‘Education for International Understanding’is an education that teaches human rights consciousness, sustainable development consciousness, and cultural diversity. Although ‘Education for International Understanding’ is important, today s educational fields are yet unprepared. This study emphasized the importance of Education for International Understanding to strengthen national competitive power, whilst raising global citizens with international sense and global consciousness. Also the study proposed to provide learning resources, and to use multimedia, internet and cyber-education on professor learning means, in order to sustain Education for International Understanding in government levels.
