국내 사이버대학교 디자인전공 현황 고찰

A Study on the Status of Design Education of Cyber University in Korea

입시인구의 감소와 대학의 구조 조정이 속도를 내기 시작한 상황에서 고등교육기관에 소속되어있는 사이버대학 역시 이런 시대적 현실에서 빗겨갈 수 없게 되었다. 사이버대학에 소속된 디자인 전공들 또한 동일한 당면과제에 직면해있다. 이 전공 분야가 현실을 극복하고 사회적 입지를 강화하기 위해서는 좀 더 발전적인 교육 모델의 구축이 필요하다. 이를 위해서는 먼저 당면한 현실적 과제를 이해하는 부분에서 문제 해결의 실마리를 찾아나가야 할 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 각 사이버대학 가상캠퍼스에 해당하는 대표 홈페이지를 대상으로 현재 개설· 운영되고 있는 디자인 전공의 학과소개 및 교육과정의 정보를 조사․분석하여 이를 선행연구와 비교․분석하므로 서 국내 사이버대학 디자인 전공의 변화 양상과 실태를 점검해보았다. 이를 토대로 해당 분야의 시사점과 당면 과제를 도출하므로 서, 국내 사이버대학 디자인 교육이 나아갈 방향에 대한 사회 적 논의를 이끌어 내고자 한다.

The cyber universities had been seeing rapid growth from 2001 to 2003 in Korean lifelong education legislation. As revision of the Higher Education Act 2007, they become the institutions of higher education, and then design higher education based on online has become an alternative choice for working people in design field, because it has no limitation of physical space and time. For the reason, it has been known a new successful education. However, in these days, the competition is tough for design education of cyber university in Korea. The field would have to develop advanced vision to overcome this kind of situation. As the first step, there is needed to research on the present conditions. So this study aims to find out the trend of design education in cyber university. For the purpose of it, this research has used cyber university websites to analyse the types and characteristics of design major. The analysis result has been compared with 2003 and 2007 researches. As a result, this study shows the improvement direction to develop design education of cyber university in Korea.
