사이버대학의 온라인 시험 운영을 위한 시스템 설계 및 구축

Design and Implementation of a System for Operating Online Examinations at Online Universities

사이버대학의 경우 학사 운영의 핵심 프로세스인 시험 역시 온라인으로 이루질 수밖에 없다는 점에서 온라인 시험의 공정성과 객관성은 무엇보다 중요하다. 하지만 기술적 접근만으로는 온라인 시험의 공정성과 객관성을 보장하는 데는 일정한 한계가 있는 만큼 시험의 운영적 측면에서 공정성과 객관성을 높임으로써 응시생 각자가 본인의 시험에만 집중할 수 있도록 유도하는 것이 필요하다. 이러한 배경에서 한양사이버대학교(한사대)에서는 2013년 6월 사이버대학에 적합한 온라인 시험시스템을 자체 개발하였으며, 2013년 2학기 실시간 중간시험을 성공적으로 운영하였다. 한사대의 온라인 시험시스템 개발은 일반적인 정보시스템 개발 절차에 따라, 사용자 요구사항의 분석과 개념적인 설계부터 시작되었다. 이후 시스템 상세 설계와 시스템 구현이 진행되었고, 시험 및 운영 과정을 마쳤다. 본 논문에서는 한사대의 시험시스템 요구분석과 개념 설계 내용을 중심으로 사이버대학의 시험평가에 F적합한 시험시스템 요구사항 및 특성, 그리고 시험시스템 개발 과정을 소개하고자 한다.

Noting that examinations, a key determinant of academic progress, are very often conducted at online universities, the fairness and objectivity of such examinations are of utmost importance. Technological means alone, however, are not sufficient to guarantee the fairness and objectivity of online examinations. It is necessary to motivate students to concentrate on testing by enhancing fairness and objectivity through operational approaches. Against this backdrop, Hanyang Cyber University (HYCU) developed an online examination system June 2013, and successfully completed real-time 2013 second semester mid-term examinations. The development process for this system started with user requirement analysis and conceptual design according to the information system development life cycle. System detail design and implementation phases were performed, and test and operation phases were completed. This study introduces the requirements, features, and developmental processes of an online examination system suited for the assessment of online universities based on requirement analysis and conceptual design of the HYCU examination system.
