액션장르에서 웹툰의 세로스크롤 연출 연구

A study on direction changes of the webtoon according to vertical scrolling - Focusing on definition of the ‘wide cut’ in the comics and applicability to webtoon

지면만화시장의 침체로 한국 만화시장은 위기를 맞이한다. 그러나 인터넷 그리고 나아가 모바일 기반인 웹툰 (webtoon)등장으로 한국만화는 다시금 부흥기를 맞이한다. 웹툰은 일시적인 현상이 아닌 한국의 대표적인 문화 컨 텐츠가 되었다. 이에 따라 웹툰에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그러나 기존의 연구가 웹툰의 매체 특성인 세로 스크롤 현상에만 머물고 있다는 점에서 본 연구는 액션장르에 집중해 지면지에서 활동하던 기성작가들이 지면지에서 많이 사용하던 와이드컷 연출을 웹툰에서 어떻게 적용시켰는지 서술하고 있다. 그들은 와이드 컷을 90도로 돌려 표 현하거나 혹은 마우스 휠 방향과 액션 방향을 맞춰 컷에 운동성을 부여하는 방향으로 개선시켰다. 그리고 최근에는 와이드 컷을 지양하고 새로운 방법을 모색하고 있음을 발견했다.

Because of the recession of the paper comics market, the Korean comics market encountered a crisis. However, Korean cartoon is celebrating the renaissance again after the webtoon based on the internet and mobile device emerged. webtoon became the leading cultural content in Korea, not a temporary phenomenon. And a lot of research has been discussed about the webtoon. But previous studies are only staying vertical scrolling phenomenon of the media characteristics in webtoon. This study describes that how established writer who worked in the field of comics applied wide cut direction often used in the comics to webtoon. Many writers have expressed turning wide cut to 90 degrees or imtparting the movement to the wide cut matching direction of the mouse wheel and action direction. Recently, it was discovered that avoiding wide cut and exploring new ways.
