Recent Economic Situation in Hungary and Policy Recommendations

2008년 글로벌 경제위기 이후 헝가리 경제가 성장과 고용확대를 이루는 과정은 EU 자금의 이용, 호전된 외부 경제요건 외에 헝가리 정부의 금융 및 재정정책에 힘입은 바 크다. 헝가리 경제의 지속적인 성장을 위하여 기업의 투자 인센티브를 제고할 필요가 있으며 이를 위해 보다 안정적인 규제의 틀과 경쟁적인 기업환경이 조성되어야 한다. 노동시장의 수요에 부응할 수 있는 교육과정과 보다 통합적이고 공정한 교육시스템이 요구되고 있다. 평생학습을 통해 기술 인력을 보강하고 제3차 교육기관과 민간회사 간 파트너십을 강화하여야 한다. 여성, 특히 영유아 자녀를 둔 여성의 고용확대는 인구노령화를 대비하는 데도 적절한 대응이 될 수 있다.

Since 2008 global crisis, the Hungarian economy has achieved high growth and employment creation due to monetary and fiscal policies as well as utilization of EU funds, and a favorable external economic environment. For continuous economic growth, firms’ investment incentives should be stimulated through more stable regulatory framework and a competitive business environment. Also, the education system needs to react to the labor market needs and be made more equitable and inclusive. There is a need to enhance the supply of skills through lifelong learning, and strengthen partnership between tertiary education institutions and private firms. To enlarge employment for women, particularly mothers with young children, might be proper measure to confront population ageing.
