루마니아 라틴주의와 그레코-가톨릭 교회연합

Latinism and the Church Union of Roman Catholic and Romanian Orthodox: Multi-dimensional Approaches on Religion, Language and Nation

루마니아의 라틴주의는 19세기 아르델레안 학파에서 시작된 언어 운동이자 동시에 로마의 계승자로서 이 운동의 발원지역인 트란실바니아 지역에서의 루마니아 민족의 역사적 정당성과 정통성을 주장하는 민족주의의 이론적 배경으로 이해될 수 있다. 라틴주의는 루마니아의 근대를 가로지르는 언어, 역사인식, 문학, 민족주의 등 다양한 주요 사안들에 지대한 영향을 미쳤다고 할 수 있는데 이에 있어서 그레코 가톨릭과의 관련성이 매우 깊다. 본고에서는 ‘종교의 중세’에서 ‘언어와 민족의 근대’로 넘어가는데 있어서 핵심적 가치와 이론적 배경을 제공한 루마니아 아르델레안 학파의 라틴주의 및 이에 영향을 준 그레코 가톨릭 교회연합에 대해서 다차원적으로 살펴봄으로써 루마니아 근대의 기저에 근본적 정신으로 존재하는 라틴주의에 대해서 분석하였다.

Latinism(Latinist tendencies) of Romania could be understood one of the important movement of linguistic changes proceeded by so called Ardelean School at the 19th Century. And also it could be understood as theoretical bases of Latin nationalism tradition of Romanians which assert legitimacy in the region of Transylvania as an direct descendents of the romanised Dacians, the Vlach. The influences of Latinism on the important issues of language, historical understanding, literature, nation, society etc which encompassed the whole Romanian modernity. In this article I will try to reinterpret Latinism and the limits of this influences by multi-dimensional analyses on Greco-Catholic and Latinism of Ardelean School.
