고구려 騎乘用 馬具의 출토 양상과 계통

Aspects of Goguryo Harness Excavationand System Inference

본고에서는 고구려시기 유적에서 출토된 기승용 마구를 살펴보고, 고구려에 마구가 유입된 그 계통과 수용 양상을 살펴보고자 했다. 고구려의 마구는 3세기 대부터 나타나기 시작하는데, 중국 동북지역 혹은 부여와의 연관성이 강하다고 여겨진다. 하지만 4세기에 이르면 모용선비 및 전연과의 연관성이 두드러진다. 마구 가운데 장식구는 양 국 간에 긴장 관계가 형성되었던 4세기 초반에 고구려로 유입되었고, 제어구나 안정구는 전연이 멸망하는 370년 즈음의 혼란한 분위기 속에서 고구려에 유입된 것으로 보인다. 고구려는 전연으로부터 유입된 마구를 그대로 받아들이는 것에 그치지 않고 독자적인 변용을 추구하였다. 한편 마구 가운데 하나인 전마구의 출토는 곧 중장기병의 출현을 의미한다. 고구려는 4세기 초반에 친연관계에 있었던 후조로부터 중장기병을 처음 도입하였고, 이후 4세기 중반 전연계 인물들의 대거 망명 혹은 342년 고구려와 전연의 전쟁을 계기로 전연의 유형이 유입된 것으로 추정된다. 전마구는 마구이기도 하지만 무기라는 성격도 동시에 가지고 있다. 즉 다른 마구와 별개로 하나의 무기로서 고구려로 도입․유입되었을 가능성이 높다.

In this article, it was tried to review harnesses excavated in remains of Goguryo and to identify the route they came to Goguryo and aspects of accommodation. The harnesses of Goguryo begin to appear in the 3rd century. It seems that until the 3rd century they had strong relations with Northeast area of China or Buyeo. However, in the fourth century, relationship with MoynongSeonbi and Qián-yān(前燕) Kingdom seems to be stronger. In early to mid-fourth century, Goguryo and Qián-yān(前燕) were in tension because of Liaodong. In 355 they made tribute-installation relationship and relatively friendly relationship was in place between two countries. It is thought that harnesses of Qián-yān(前燕) came to Goguryo in this period. Around 370 when Qián-yān(前燕) fell down, such harnesses were actively accommodated by Goguryoin the chaotic times. However, Goguryo did not simply import harnesses but it tried to develop them into their original styles. On the other hand, excavation of wartime harnesses in Goguryo remains means emergence of heavy cavalry. It is guessed that heavy cavalry in Goguryo was introduced in early 4th century. It is difficult to suppose that they were imported from Qián-yān(前燕) because two countries were in strained relations in early to mid-fourth century. Although war harnesses are a kind of harnesses, they have another characteristic, so to speak, as a strong weapon. In other words, they may be imported as a weapon.
