He stressed the geographical differences in comparison between Korean and European literature. His works present well the geography of daily life about his living places such as the Pyeongchang, Kyeongseong, and Pyeongyang and his tour cities in Manchuria including Harbin. In Korean literary world, the criticisms interpreted geographical identities such as regional localism and globalism for his works.
