A Study on the Measurement of the Lack of Penetration in the Stainless Steel Fillet Weld Zone by Ultrasonic Testing

This study intends to make specimens with the artificial defects from the measurement of defects contained in the fillet weld zone through the scan of peak echo with beam path in the method of ultrasonic straight and angle beam, and presume of defects comparing normal probe with angle probe. The result shows that the angle probe 5Z 10X10 A70 less defects than normal probe 5Q20N and angle probe 5Z 10X10 A60 and the location and size of defects can be measured blow 11.63%. The experimental consequence of this study will be helpful in measuring the defect size of the lack of penetration in the welding structure fillet weld zone.
