In this research, power control system was constructed using the ATmega128 microprocessor. This system was designed to be adjusted in eight steps, using timer interrupt of clock that occurred in regular cycle, ingenerating the wave of PWM(Pulse Width modulation) and varying the pulse width of the waveform after dividing frequency of interrupt and internal clock that occurred from the external input provided by the processor. And two switches were used, and one of the two input switches can make an role of increasing the pulse width and the other switch can reduce the pulse width. As the input signal from the switch varies the pulse width by the internal program of microprocessor and the variable PWM output can control the AC power by stage using Diac for trigger and Triac for output, this controller was designed to be more efficient electrically than existing controller with on-off method.
