To maintain high rolling contact fatigue of raceways and rolling elements of the bearing, bearing steel must undergo heat treatment and surface finish that ensures high hardness, tensile yield strength, wear resistance, fatigue strength etc. In this study UNSM treatment was applied to bearing steel specimen, followed by rolling contact fatigue (RCF) test. Results of the test show that rolling contact fatigue life of UNSM treated specimen improved 2 ∼ 2.5 times.
