In this paper, lightweight cluster-based key mutual authentication protocol is suggested in order to provide an efficient mutual authentication of sensor node in the wireless sensor network. Recently, anonymity together with real time authentication, lightweight/synchronization of authentication is required to be maintained through prevention of ID exposure of sensor node. In particular, communication being taken place in wireless channel is apt to be exposed to locational information, privacy invasion by third parties or vulnerability of security. In this paper proposal, in order to maintain network performance while satisfying security requirements, variable identifier and URSC code are used for a real time authentication (inter Base station–Cluster head-Sensor node) technology by using Hash function and shared secret without encryption algorithm. Through key agreement in a process of mutual authentication, one time session key for encryption of sensing data is efficiently generated. Lightweight and mutual authentication protocol that is safe against various invasions, ensures strong anonymity and is prepared against vulnerability such as eavesdropping, location tracing and sensor exposure was suggested and analyzed.
