Traditional Korean paper, Hanji is made of paper mulberry tree, which is a tree easily obtainable from nature. In Korean traditional structures, Hanji has been used as the window cover paper, wall paper, and floor paper. The special characteristics of Hanji is composed of a pore void, or the gap between fiber, and smaller the size of fiber, more than gap among fiber to cause larger pore void. Therefore, it has better air permeability, better light penetrability, and better heat insulation property, and it may adjust humidity and dust-filter. To compare the rate of pore void, air permeability, and light penetrability between Hanji and other paper, this study aims at designing the measurement instrument and relative device and to experiment through comparative analysis to clarify the excellence of Hanji, leading to contribution to the wide expansion of use.
