Application Technique for Power Quality Enhancement Using Dynamic Voltage Restorers

In this dissertation, the application technique of DVR for the power quality enhancement in distribution line is presented. Usually the UPS which can be only used in limited range of loads has used to power qaulity problem, but the UPS has defects such as utility factor and high cost. Therefore the more effective DVR than the UPS is used in power distribution system. The DVR system compensates a variation of the voltage by means of energy storer devices such as a lead storage battery and a electrolytic capacitor, but this system has a problem of charge-discharge speed, life time, surrounding pollution and very low energy density. Especially, this study is expected that approving a lot of control scheme and the DVR topology with experience result will be able to be useful for the DVR application in the power system.
