A Study on Internal Inverted-F Antenna for DMB

This paper inverted-F type antenna for DMB handset is proposed. The proposed antenna is thin inverted-F structure and is able to apply to handset easily. The antenna has small size and manufacturing process is simple so it has an advantage of production on a large scales. Electric small antenna has low radiation efficiency and is affect the ground plane heavily. The proposed inverted-F antenna is overcome the disadvantage and can be printed on the handset single PCB. Internal handset antenna don t have omni-directional radiation pattern because of the structure so the structure is modified for omni-directional radiation pattern. The proposed antenna is simulated for analyzer of antenna parameter and is designed the most optimized structure. The designed antenna is fabricated and measured. The measured antenna is satisfied frequency rage of 1630～1655MHz for DMB service at VSWR 2:1. And the radiation pattern is omni-directional. The antenna gain is over 3dBi at whole operating frequency range.
