Due to recent air pollution and energy consumption limitations, improving energy efficiency and low pollution combustion have been proposed as a practical plan to solve environmental problems. The phenomena in gas turbine combustor which stands for practical combustors and heavy-duty uninterrupted flow combustor are extremely complex, and its variables to affect combustion conditions and performance are also so much. Especially auxiliary air that enters through the auxiliary air holes affects the combustion in the primary combustion zone, and it is an important variable influencing the performance of combustor, too. In this study, researchers measured the average temperature, the combustion gas concentration, NOx concentration and so on about the experimental conditions which are formed by changes in the auxiliary air flow. Through the measurement, impacts of the combustion characteristics that were caused by changes of the auxiliary air injection were examined.
