The study on enhanced production of peroxidase(POD) and culture optimization of recombinant S. cerevisiae GPD-PODl was investigated with 5L jar fermentor. The peak of extracellular POD activity was detected at 20 h. The secrered yield of POD activity was found to be 87%. The maxirnal and stable POD activity was obtained with yeast nitrogen base w/o amino acid 6.7 g/L at 30℃, pH 8. The POD activity was increased up to 73-fold in a flask cultivation and enhanced by more than 155-fold in a laboratorical scale fermentor cultivation. The resultant maximum POD activity was obtained with respect to the control process of the respiratory quotient.(RQ) Additional improvement is likely to be obtained through a refinement of biotic control strategies.
