The movement of piston ring and the amount of blow-by gas were measured and the following results were obtained after the measurement of product linkage between rings and 2nd ring lifting up. 1) The 2nd ring was lifted up near the dead center of compressed top at the range of 2400~3200 rpm from the lower surface of the ring groove and blow-by gas was increased by the twisting of 2nd ring. 2) As the result of measuring blow-by gas, when the 2nd ring was lifted up, the blow-by gas increased too at 2400 rpm. 3) In case of inner bevel, at the point of the 2nd ring lifting up, the amount of blow-by gas increase at 2700~2800 rpm. 4) The 2nd ring stayed on the lower surface of ring groove at near the compressed top dead center till 2400 rpm. After that , the 2nd ring was lifted off from the lower surface at the engine speed of 2600rpm on the low load and 3000rpm on high load. From this result, it seems that the 2nd ring was remarkably improved in the sealing ability.
