유아교사의 교직윤리에 관한 연구동향 분석

An Analysis of the Research Trends on Early Childhood Teachers’ Professional Ethics

유아교사의 교직수행은 어린 유아의 발달과 성장에 관한 전문적인 활동이므로 특별히 높은 윤리적 수준이 요구되지만, 유아 교실에서의 비윤리적 행태가 사회적 이슈로 떠오르면서 유아교사의 교직윤리에 대한 학계와 사회의 관심이 높아졌다. 본 연구 는 유아교사의 교직윤리에 관한 연구동향을 파악하고 앞으로의 연구 방향을 제시함으로써 교직수행의 실질적인 개선을 도모할 수 있는 연구 활성화에 기여하려는 목적으로 수행되었다. 2017년 10월 현재까지 발표된 유아교사 교직윤리 관련 논문을 최대치 수집하고자 가능한 검색엔진을 모두 사용하였으나 석사, 박사, 학술지 논문을 총합하여 77편의 연구물이 검색됨으로써 연구가 활성화되지 않은 분야임을 알 수 있었다. 검색된 논문들의 연구내용과 연구방법을 분석해본 결과, 연구내용에 있어서는 기초연구가 약 30%를 차지하였는데, 이론 고찰 연구는 없었고 교직윤리 인식에 대한 현황조사가 가장 많았다. 실천연구는 약 70%를 차지하였는데, 교사교육을 위한 프로그램 개발 연구는 단지 3편에 그쳤고 관련변인 탐색 연구가 대부분이었다. 연구방법에 있어서는 질문지를 사용하는 양적연구가 주를 이루었고 질적연구와 문헌연구는 소수였다. 이러한 결과는 유아교사의 교직윤리에 관한 연구가 이론적 탐색부터 체계적으로 확대되어야 하고 내용과 방법에 있어서 다양화될 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

This study analyzed the research trends of early childhood teachers’ teaching ethics in Korea. In spite of the importance of teachers’ professionalism in early childhood education, research on the early childhood teachers’ professional ethics is small. A total of only 77 studies(26 master’s and doctoral theses, and 51 academic articles) conduced in Korea were analyzed in terms of research contents and research methods. Frequency analysis and percentage were computed for data analysis. The result of this study showed a very slow increase in fundamental research on early childhood teachers’ professional ethics. Theoretical research was hardly seen. The research focused narrowly on related variables concerned with practical research. In terms of research methods, quantitative rather than qualitative research types were more frequently used with early childhood teachers. The most frequently used data collection method was a questionnaire method. This result suggests that the research contents and methods in early childhood teachers’ professional ethics need to be more diversified. There should be in-depth fundamental research in this field to determine the principles and directions for early childhood teachers’ ethical practices. Also, the practical research on developing educational programs for early childhood teachers’ professional ethics is required.
