The main objective of this study is to examine the significance of a commercial center which most universal and practical facility in the masses centroid world city, by analyzing the historical development process and results of that, and future direction. This study expores urban entertainment center which is composed with three main subjects, city and mix-used, and entertainment. At first, It was defined the places for a consume, public, and entertainment of the city. secondly It was looked at the state of multi-used and entertainment as the development of industry and technique. The consumer, includes regional and local shoppers, want more complicate functions and convenient use of the facility in one place where they visit to experience. The commercial center must have to satisfy on this complex need of them, and the urban entertainment center is the one meet the requirement. This study explored a couple of examples, especially the buildings in America or Japan to show the characters of the urban entertainment center we expected. La festa and westen dome in il-san, both are good instances in korea. Before construction of these. Coex mall in seoul is successful UEC as precedent. These examples integrated that the architectural spaces of these popular urban entertainment centers are not composed like towe but present appearance a street mall which people can approch more easily like traditional market. Finally this study suggested the future direction of development. It need more careful survey about sociality, economy and cultural trend. Archit need to study more about developing methodologies of this multi, mega shopping center to involve the fluid investment as well as meaningful public places of the city.
