A Study on Multi-family Housing Infill Renovation in Japan

In this study, specific techniques on the infill renovation of existing Multi-family Housing are analyzed based on actual cases. Many people live in Multi-family Housing based on urban areas and it is necessary to repair common use areas and area of exclusive use space for pleasant living in future. There have been many comments saying that the lifespan of apartment houses in Japan is short, and it is necessary to carry out maintenance and renovation properly along with the changes of the time. The purpose of this study is to analyze historical details and advanced response of Japan on the assignment and solution of stock renovation for apartment houses in Japan through the skeleton & infill system.
