일본의 교육격차 실태분석

A Study on the Educational Gap in Japan

이 연구는 일본의 교육격차 배경과 최근의 구체적인 교육격차 실태를 분석함으로써 한국 교육격차 해소를 위한 시사점을 도출하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 관련 논문과 문부과학성 발간 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 일본은 계층에 따른 소득 격차가 더욱 확대 고정화되고 있고, 이것은 계층에 따른 교육기회의 격차로 이어지고 있으며, 부모의 학력 및 소득에 따라 학생의 학업능력의 격차로 귀결되고 있다. 그리고 2차 세계대전 이후로 부모와 자녀의 계층에 거의 변화가 없었으며 자녀들은 부모와 같은 사회 계층에 머물러있는 경향이 있었다. 일본 각 지역별 교육격차와 상관관계가 높은 요인으로는 비정규직 비율, 이혼 건수, 한 부모 가정 등이 나타났다. 이러한 교육격차를 해소하기 위해 지역-학교-가정을 연계하는 노력이 이루어지고 있다.

The aims of this study are to clarify the reality of the educational gap in Japan, and to get the implications for improving the educational gap in Korea. The educational inequality problem is a social structural problem in Japan. An equality in educational opportunities is needed for the equality in the chances of attaining a job. But inequality of income makes the inequality of educational opportunities. The differences of parents’ academic background and income make the differences of children’s academic abilities. This tendency has gradually been fixed problem in Japan society. After the Second World War, the level of social classes of parents reproduce the same level of social classes of children. The educational differences between each region in Japan has high correlation with the rates of temporary employee, divorce rate and single parent family. The efforts to connect home, school and region all together is the solution to reduce the gap.
