The effect of Parent & Friend Attachment on the Academic Satisfaction and Life Satisfaction in Chinese Students Studying in the Republic of Korea: Target on Beauty Major College Students

This study investigated the effect of parent and friend attachment on the academic satisfaction, and life satisfaction amongst Chinese students in the Republic of Korea. In particular, it attempted to search for a strategy to improve their academic satisfaction and life satisfaction by examining parent and friend attachments which have a positive effect on their studying in the Republic of Korea. For this, data was collected from a total of 283 Chinese students majoring in cosmetology at colleges in Seoul from February to March 2017 and was analyzed through frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The results found the following: As parent and friend attachments increased, both academic satisfaction and life satisfaction improved. In other words, it has been confirmed that parent and friend attachments have a positive effect on academic satisfaction and life satisfaction. Therefore, this study suggests implications on positive support systems for school maladaptation such as school dropout and illegal stay after developing diverse plans to improve academic and life satisfactions among Chinese students studying in the Republic of Korea through analysis of their parent and friend attachments.
