과학영재교육원에 대한 학생과 학부모의 인식 및 요구도 조사 연구 - 강릉원주대학교 과학영재교육원을 중심으로 -

A survey on the students and parents perception on the science education center for the gifted : focus on the case of Gangneung-Wonju National University

본 연구는 대학 부설 과학영재교육원에 입학하는 학생 및 학부모를 대상으로 과학영재교 육원에 대한 인식, 영재교육의 필요성, 그리고 개인적 욕구, 기관⋅강사⋅수업에 대한 욕구를 조사하여 현 과학영재교육원의 교육과정과 방법을 고찰하고 향후 교육과정 개편에 도움을 주고자 함이다. 연구 결과, 학생 및 학부모 공통으로 영재들에게 우수하고 적합한 교육프로그램의 제공을 가장 기대하고 있으며, 여기에는 실험 위주의 수업 확대, 창의성 훈련 및 개별 관심에 대한 심화 학습의 욕구가 포함되어 있었다. 그러나 영재교육에 대한 정의나 교육 대상, 교육 기간, 강사 자질, 원하는 수업 내용 등에 있어서 학생 및 학부모간에 유의미한 욕구 차이가 있음도 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 향후 학생 및 학부모, 과학영재교육원간의 지속적인 소통 및 교류의 필요성을 시사한다.

The study investigated the perception of students and parents who have been admitted to the science education center for the gifted in Gangneung-Wonju National University. The results showed that first of all, the largest reason for students and the parents to demand a science education center for the gifted was the need for professional program for the `science gifted , the teaching skill on the study, the unique training and an individual interest. But, the perception on the justification of gifted education was different as a student and as a parent, in topics including the educational objective, and the duration of study, and the method of change and study. Given these findings, I propose an educational direction for the science education center for the gifted.
