대학 과학영재교육원의 운영 사업 비교와 발전 과제

A Comparative Analysis of Educational Programs of University-Based Gifted Education Center for the Gifted in Science

본 연구에서는 전국의 25개 대학부설 과학영재교육원 가운데 14개 대학부설 과학영재교 육원의 제반 특성과 실태를 비교하여 분석하였다. 각 교육원의 운영 사업보고서를 토대로 교육 목표, 조직 구성원, 과학영재선발과 관리 방법, 교육 프로그램 구성 체계와 내용, 학습 성취도 평가 방법, 대학별 특별 추진 사업 계획 등 6가지 측면에 분석의 초점을 맞추었다. 이러한 분석을 토대로 그동안 과학영재교육원이 미친 사회적 영향과 교육적 성과를 정리하고 향후 대학 과학 영재교육원에서 중점적으로 고려하고 추진해가야 할 발전적 실천 과제들을 모색하였다.

As gifted education has become a national concern, the total number of the institute of gifted education in science is also increasing accordingly. Although there has been a steadily growing number of these education centers for the gifted, little attempt has been made to analyze educational programs and practices of these institutions. As such, the purpose of this study is to compare and analyze 14 university-based education centers for the gifted in science. The comparative analysis was conducted according to 6 aspects including the educational goal, members of the institute, student selection or admission procedures, its educational program, evaluation system and program specialization plan. Based on this analysis, this study closely examined the social effects and educational outcomes which university-based gifted education centers for the scientifically gifted have been provided. Furthermore, educational and social implications of the findings in this study are discussed and several suggestions are described to meet the purpose of each center pursues.
