과학영재교육원 및 일반 중학교 학생의 Holland 진로탐색검사를 통한 진로 적성 비교 분석 연구

Carrier related analysis of the gifted middle school students in science based on the Self-directed Search test developed by Holland

과학영재교육원에 재학 중인 과학영재의 전반적인 특성을 파악하고 진로 지도를 위해 Holland 진로탐색검사를 실시하고, 그 결과를 일반 중학교 재학생과 비교 분석하였다. 과학영재학생은 일반 중학교 재학생에 비해 탐구적 호기심이 상대적으로 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 일반 중학생에 비해 상대적으로 다방면에 재능이 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 이는 장래에 자연과학 및 공학 등을 포함한 광범 위의 이학 계열로 진학 가능성이 높으며 그 분야에서 적응 가능성이 높을 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 미래 과학자를 조기 발굴하여 적합한 교육을 실시한다는 과학영재교육원의 취지에 상당히 부합하는 것으로 파악된다.

Students attending at the Center for Gifted Education, Changwon National University, have been tested by a self-directed search carrier test developed by Holland and translated in Korean by An et. al. to understand their current carrier related abilities and interests. This test results could be used for carrier consulting for the students by introducing academics and related jobs. To understand better about the gifted students, students from a local middle school have been selected as a control group. Most of the gifted students were I-type(Investigative), which usally have more interests in surroundings, especially scientific matters, as well as better abilities in many aspects including science and math than normal students. From the results, it is strongly recommended that the gifted students may take science, medical and engineering school for their college education as well as carrier related with these in the future.
