문화기술지 연구에서의 영역 분석

Domain Analysis in Ethnography

본 연구에서는 문화기술지에서의 영역 분석 방법(Domain analysis)에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 문화기술지는 질적 연구의 가장 오래된 전통으로서 질적 연구의 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있음에도 불구하고 우리나라에는 문화기술지에서의 분석 기법들에 대하여 알려진 바가 거의 없다. 이에 본 연구에서는 문화기술지에서의 영역 분석에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 이러한 문화 영역분석은 문화의 총체를 이해하기 위한 연구 기법으로서 문화와 개인의 행위를 이해하는 기본적인 방법이 된다. 이러한 점에서 본 연구에서 문화 영역 분석의 대표적인 방법으로서 영역 분석과 분류분석(Taxonomy), 그리고 매트릭스 분석 방법에 대해 소개하고자 한다.

This study aims to examine the domain analysis method in ethnography. Even when ethnography takes an essential part of the qualitative research, as the longest tradition of it, there are not much analytical techniques of ethnography introduced in Korea. Thus, this study aims to introduce the domain analysis in ethnography. As a research technique to understand the entire culture, culture domain analysis is a basic method to review and learn culture and individual’s behaviors. In this aspect, this study aims to introduce the domain analysis, taxonomy, and matrix analysis as the representative methods of the culture domain analysis.
