Analysis of Smart Phone Based Questionnaire Responses for Tinnitus Screening

Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze the results of smartphone based questionnaire responses for tinnitus screening and rehabilitation in medical and audiological rehabilitation. Methods: The subjects were 37 (group I) who did not experience tinnitus (male: female = 13: 24) (32.5 ± 10.8 years), 20 patients who experienced tinnitus but did not feel any discomfort (group II) (male: female = 9:11) (mean 32 ± 10.5 years). The questionnaire used items with subcategories such as social (10), emotional (15), and physical (12), and respondents used the Likert 5-point scale and the 100-point scale. The results are descriptive statistics of response scores, and the relationship between the two groups was analyzed by one - way ANOVA. Results: Average scores of social, emotional, and physical categories; The 5-point scale was 1.0, 1.01, 1.0 in group I, 1.02, 1.0, and 1.09 in group II, 100 point scales were observed in 0.57, 0.62, 0.71 in group I, 1.87, 7, and 4.22 in group II. Conclusions: In the questionnaire, it is more appropriate to use the 5 point scale than the 100 point scale for the questionnaire. Sub-category questionnaire items need to be improved in terms of emotional aspects such as stress , vexation , annoyance , disturbance of relaxation , embarrassment and physical aspects such as sleep disturbance , otalgia , headache .
