마태복음 족보에 등장하는 여인들은 예수를 다윗 계열의 메시아로 소개하기 위해 사용된 단순한 문학적 소품이 아니라, 마태복음의 신학적 담론과 의미를 선명하게 드러내기 위한 저자의 계산된 문학적 표현이며 전략이다. 족보에 등장하는 여인들의 문학적 역할과 의미, 특별히 종교-사회적 경계를 뛰어넘어 하나님의 구원 섭리를 이루어낸 역사적 사건의 주인공으로서 여인들의 역할과 그 신학적 의미는 가나안 여인 이야기와 서사적 평행을 이루며 더욱 구체화되고 선명 하게 드러난다. 이러한 문학적 전략을 통해 마태복음은 하나님의 구원 역사가 종교와 사회가 정해놓은 규범과 가치체계에 함몰되지 않으며, 민족, 종교, 이념, 성, 계급의 경계를 넘어 모든 인류에게 확장 됨을 선언하며, 전체 서사를 이끈다. 본 논문은 마태복음 족보에 등장하는 여인들과 15장의 가나안 여인 이야기를 분석하며 여인들의 캐릭터와 역할을 통해 공통적으로 드러나는 문학적 기능을 살펴보 고, 신학적 의미를 고찰해 본다

The women in Matthew s genealogy is not just narrative characters to prove Jesus as the messiah from the lineage of David; but those women must be the author s narrative strategy to reveal Matthew s theological discourse and its meaning, while corresponding to the Canaanite woman. The role of the women in Genealogy and their theological significance are clearly embodied in the narrative of the Canaanite woman. Through this narrative strategy, the Gospel of Matthew represents its theological discourse that the divine providence is not only hindered by a socio-religious value system or traditions, but it also breaks down multiple boundaries of ethnicity, religion, gender, class; and it rather expands its boundaries to the whole world. This article investigates the narrative correlation between the women in Matthew s genealogy and the Canaanite woman, while examining the literary strategic function and its theological meaning.
