This study aims to shed light on the antecedents (the sense of calling, openness in communication climate and perceived external prestige) of organizational identification in social enterprises and its effect on organizational citizenship behaviour. Further, it examines the mediation effects of organizational identification between the antecedents of organizational identification and organizational citizenship behaviour. The empirical findings were as followed. First, the sense of calling, openness in communication climate and perceived external prestige have statistically positive impacts on organizational identification. In particular, the sense of calling showed a very significant relationship with organizational identification. Second, organizational identification has a positive impact on organizational citizenship behaviour. Finally, organizational identification significantly mediated the associations between the independent variables and organizational citizenship behaviour.
