<동문선(東文選)> 번역을 통해 본 한시(漢詩) 번역의 방법

A Study on Methods of Translating Sino-korean Poetry into Korean Language by Considering the Translation of Dongmunseon[東文選]

한국 한시(漢詩)는 한문이라는 외국어로 창작된 문학작품이므로 이를 연구하기 위해서는 국역(國譯)이 필수적이다. 한시 번역은 반드시 교감(校勘), 표점(標點),주석(註釋)을 바탕으로 이루어져야 한다. 명작으로 알려진 한시 작품들은 출전에 따라 자구(字句)가 달라지는 경우가 많다. 이때 자구 자체의 의미뿐만 아니라 작품의 주제가 달라지는 경우도 있으므로 올바른 번역을 위해서는 교감이 먼저 이루어져야 한다. 한시의 창작 방법으로 자주 이용되는 의상(意象)과 용사(用事) 등에 대해서는 자세한 주석을 달아야 한다. 또한 주석 내용의 출전과 원문을 검수하여 오류가 없도록 주의해야 한다. 번역은 직역(直譯)을 위주로 하되 생략된 문장 성분을 보충 하는 것이 좋고 해설은 자세할수록 좋다. 주석과 해설이 많아지면 분량 또한 많아지므로 번역서를 출간하는 데 문제가 된다. 이러한 문제는 한국고전번역원에서 구축한 “한국고전종합DB” 등과 같은 온라인 시스템을 활용하여 번역과 관련된 공개 의견들을 취합하고 정리함으로써 해 결할 수 있을 것이다.

At this time, not only the meaning itself but also the subject of the work may be changed. Therefore, revision must be done first for correct translation. Details about the symbols and parodies that are often used as a way of creating a sino-korean poetry should be annotated. Also, the contents of the annotation and the original text should be checked to make sure there are no errors. It is better to translate sentences literally than paraphrasing them. If there are many annotations and commentaries, the amount will increase, so there will be a problem in publishing it. This problem can be solved by collecting and organizing various opinions on translation and commentary by using online system such as “Korean Classic Database” established by “Institution for the Translation of Korean Classics.”
