시조의 기원과 형식의 정착 과정 연구

A Study on the Emergence Era and Formation Process of Sijo

본 연구는 시조의 정형율 자체가 처음부터 고정된 것이 아니라 시간을 두고 형성되어온 실체라는 관점에서 시조의 기원설에 대한 논의를 살펴보고, 다음으로는 악곡의 전개양상과 관련하여 시조 노랫말(歌詞)의 형성 과정을 설명하였다. 먼저, 기원설과 관련하여 이전의 논의가 부분적 일치를 보여준 것에 불과하다는 점에서 ‘우리말을 통한 기존 악곡 종합설’을 제기하였다. 그 근거를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 시조의 정격 형식은 4음보 율격과 의미 단락이 3분절된다는 양자를 충족시켜야 한다. 시조는 그 발생기에는 구비전승의 방식으로 구연되었던 시가형식의 특성상, 노랫가락이 우리말의 언어적 운용 및 사유 구조에 알맞게 형상화되었다. 다음으로는, 앞에서 언급한 우리 노랫말의 특성에 따른 구조 분석과 확산 과정을 통해 발생기 시조 형식의 정착 과정을 설명하였다. 연창의 환경을 고려한 구조 분석에서, 장별 서술시간으로 ‘[초・중장 : 事件時] → [종장 : 論評時]’의 구조 를 확인하였다. 그리고 노랫말의 특성상 상호텍스트성의 확대를 통해 정착과 확산의 과정을 거쳤다.

This study tried to explain the origin and form settlement of Sijo with the viewpoint that Sijo’s fixed form is not a fixed one from the beginning but a substantial existence developed with time. The contents and purposes of this study are following; Firstly, ‘through Korean Language synthesize’ was suggested because previous discussion was only partly correct. The summarized basises are following. Sijo’s fixed form needs to satisfy two things; 4 musical foot rule and paragraph divided in 3 parts. It is the form of recited poem song different from written literature and the melody is well shaped suitably for Korean’s linguistic use. Nextly, the study also mentioned that we need to analyse the structure of Sijo considering the circumstance of performance. So, narrational point as [beginning․middle Jang: emergence-time]→[final Jang: commentation-time] was suggested. And, the study concluded that on the property of lyrics, Sijo’s Form settlement goes through expansion process by intertextuality.
