국가 수준 교육과정 및 미술과 교육과정 문서 체제 비교 연구

A comparative study on curriculum frameworks of the National Art Curriclums in five countries

차기 교육과정에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 이루어지고 있는 이 때, 각 나라의 현행 국가 수준의 교육과정 및 미술과 교육과정의 문서 체제를 살펴보는 일은 각국이 무엇에 중점을 두고 교육과정을 설계, 실시, 운영하는가를 알아보는 데 도움을 줄 것이다. 본 연구는 우리나라 및 미국, 영국, 호주, 일본을 선정, 교육과정의 문서 체제를 비교하였다. 강력한 국가 주도의 교유고가정이 실시되는 우리나라 및 일본의 경우 교육과정 총론의 문서 체제에 준하여 미술과 교육과정이 기술되어 있으며, 제시 형태도 유사하였다. 미국, 호주의 경우 각 주별로 교육과정이 독립적으로 개발, 운영되기 때문에 총론 및 각론의 문서 체제는 관련성이 적으며, 국가 단위의 교육과정이 존재하나 지역 교육청과 학교에 자율권이 많이 부여되는 영국의 경우 단계별로 성취수준에 따라 미술과 내용이 기술되어 있다. 새 교육과정의 개발을 위하여 교육과정 문서 체제에 대한 연구는 각 교과별 교육과정 목표를 구현하기 위하여 교과별 교육과정 문서 체제를 어떻게 구성할 것인가에 대한 고민으로부터 출발하여야 할 것이다.

The curriculum framework(or the structure) of the 7th Korean National Art Curriculum set out 5 categories, characteristics of art education as a subject, subject objectives, art contents(attainment targets and level descriptions), instructional strategies and methods, and assessment. This curriculum framework has been applied to the curriculums in every subjects since the 1st Korean National Curriculum was promulgated. Now it is time to think about a new National Curriculum and National Art Curriculum. However a general framework for the new one is not yet discussed, whether it is necessary or unnecessary for each subject including art education could be considered. The purpose of this study was a) to compare and analyze the curriculum frameworks of the current National Curriculum and the current National Art Curriculum of 5 different countries, The Republic of Korea, The United States of America, The United Kingdom of Great Britain, Australia, and Japan, and 2) to consider whether we should maintain the curriculum framework which applied to every subjects so far. The findings of this study are as follows; 1) the curriculum frameworks of the National Curriculum and the National Art Curriculum of the Republic of Korea and Japan were same, and 2) those of the two curriculums of the United States of America, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and Australia were not same. In the latter three countries, curriculum frameworks were not easy to be found. It is expected that it is time to consider the curriculum frameworks of art subject itself for the development of the new Korean National Art Curriculum.
