교육내용 선정 원리에 비추어 본 제 7차 특별활동 교육과정 : 적응활동과 봉사활동을 중심으로

특별활동 교육과정의 중요성은 7차 교육과정에서 더욱 강조되었으며, 특별활동 영역은 자치, 적응, 계발, 행사, 봉사활동의 5개 영역으로 대폭 수정되었다. 이 연구에서는 이러한 특별활동 영역의 변화가 교육내용 선정 원리에 비추어 과연 타당한 것인지를 탐색하고 이에 대한 개선방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 특히, 적응활동과 봉사활동을 중심으로 고찰한 결과 교육과정 내용의 하위영역 목표간에 타당성은 있으나 학습량과 시간의 제한 때문에 내용 선정의 원리 중 만족의 원리와 학습가능성의 원리에 불충분한 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 문제를 개선하기 위해서는 특별활동 교육과정의 내용 축소 및 시간 조정이 필요 할 것이다.

Nowadays, emphasis has been placed on the importance of characteristic education in Korean schools. In this respect, it is not surprising that the extra-curricular activities are recommended as essential ones for the improvement of characteristic education. As is well-known, the extra-curricular activities are divided into five dimensions: club, adaptation, self-government, school event, and public service activity according to the 7th National curriculum. The purpose of this study is to evaluate validity of contents: two elements of five dimensions of the extra-curricula activities according to the 7th National Curriculum. In other words, there are adaptation and public service activity. Reviewing the contents of two aspects based on the principles for selection of content, it could sum up the following. First, it enables adaptation and public service activity to have not enough time for achievement of their aims. Secondly, it is lack of activity-time in extra-curricula activities. The results to examine adaptation and public service activity can be summarized as follows: adaptation and public service activity satisfied validity as criteria for selecting contents. However, they can be founded insufficiently in the light of interest and learnability as criteria for selecting contents, because of lack of time schedule, much learning, and selection of theme irrelevant to developmental stage. Finally, for adaptation and public service activity considered in the criteria for selecting content, regulation of time schedule and contents can be needed.
