영 교육과정에 대한 예비교사들의 인식 분석

Importance-Performance Analysis on Pre-service Teachers’ Recognitions of Null-Curriculum

본 연구의 목적은 영 교육과정에 대한 예비교사의 인식을 분석하고 이를 근거로 중등교육과정에 반영해야 할 내용이 무엇인지를 도출하는 것이다. 연구대상은 D시 에 소재한 K대학의 교직과정 수강생 252명이며, 영 교육과정의 인식을 측정하기 위 해 심상보(2003)와 양영희(2006)의 도구를 재구성하여 사용하였다. 측정도구는 생활 의 다양한 요구를 반영하는 항목, 미래사회의 요구를 반영하는 항목, 다양한 교수- 학습 활동을 반영하는 항목, 다중지능 이론을 반영하는 항목, 다문화 이해를 반영하 는 항목 등 5개 항목이며, 각 문항은 중요도와 다루어지는 정도를 측정하도록 구성 되었고 총 문항 수는 49문항이다. 자료 분석은 t검증과 중요도와 실행도를 분석 (IPA)하였다. 항목별 IPA결과를 보면 생활의 다양한 요구를 반영하는 항목이 중요 도는 높지만 다루어지는 정도를 낮게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 각 항목을 구성하 는 내용들에 대한 IPA결과 제 2사분면에 분포된 내용을 보면, 생활의 다양한 요구 를 반영하는 항목에서는 경제교육과 소비자교육에 관한 내용, 최선을 다하는 삶에 관한 내용, 다양한 삶의 방식 이해에 관한 내용으로 나타났다. 다양한 교수-학습활 동을 반영하는 항목에서는 창의력 신장을 위한 내용이 분포되었고 다중지능 이론을 반영하는 항목에서는 대인 간 지능을 반영하는 내용과 개인 내적 지능을 반영하는 내용이 분포되었다. 다문화 이해를 반영하는 항목에서는 다양한 계층과 이민족의 정 체성 포용에 관한 내용이 중요도는 높지만 잘 다루어지지 않는 것으로 인식하고 있 는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 교육에 있어서 중요한 축을 구성하고 있는 학습자의 영 교육과정에 대한 인식을 확인함으로써 교육과정 구성에 의미 있는 논의를 제공 할 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze pre-service teachers’ recognitions of null curriculum and to drive contents that need to reflect to high school curriculum. For this purpose, two hundred fifty-two pre-service teachers from K University in D city were recruited. The survey instrument used for this study was developed by the research based on Yang’s(2006) and Shim’s(2003). This instrument consists of five categories: ① contents reflecting ‘the needs of social life’, ② contents reflecting ‘the needs of future society’, ③ contents reflecting ‘various teaching-learning activities’, ④ contents reflecting ‘the theory of multiple intelligences’, ⑤ contents reflecting ‘multicultural understanding’. This instrument contains total forty-nine questions. And each question asks about the importance as educational contents and the degree of implementing (performance) in high school curriculum of specific contents. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, pre-service teachers report high importance and low performance on the category of “the needs of social life”. Second, in the category of ‘the needs of social life’, the contents about ‘economic education and consumer education’, ‘the life style that doing one’s best’ and ‘understanding about various life styles’ take quadrant Ⅱ of high importance and low performance. In the category of ‘various teaching-learning activities’, the contents for ‘developing creativity’ takes quadrant Ⅱ of high importance and low performance. In the category of ‘the theory of multiple intelligences’, the contents for ‘interpersonal intelligence’ and ‘interpersonal intelligence’ take quadrant Ⅱ of high importance and low performance. Lastly, in the category of ‘multicultural understanding’, the contents about ‘the embracement of various social class and ethnic groups’ takes quadrant Ⅱ of high importance and low performance. Through analyzing learners’ as education comsumers recognitions of null curriculum, this study can provide valuable and significant informations to curriculum construction field.
