청소년을 위한 지역사회교육 프로그램의 효과

이 연구의 목적은 영어를 활용한 지역사회교육 프로그램이 청소년들의 애향심 및 영어 흥미도와 관련된 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 본 연구를 위해서 시흥시차세대외교관학교 참여 학생을 대상으로 실험연구를 수행하였다. 연구결과 시흥시차세대외교관 학교 프로그램을 적용한 실험집단의 애향심과 영어 흥미도가 프로그램을 적용하지않은 통제집단의 애향심과 영어 흥미도보다 높게 나타났다. 이를 통해서 첫째, 애향심은 분절적인 교과 영역 내의 가치 목표가 아닌 통합적인 방법으로 교육하는 것이 효과적이며, 둘째, 지역을 소재로 한 영어교육은 초등학생들의 영어 흥미 향상에 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 연구 결과는 특정교과 및 교과서 중심의 지역화 수업의 한계를 극복하고 지역사회교육에 대한 실질적인 교수법을 제시할 수 있는 유용 한 토대가 될 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of community education program for youth using English on the local patriotism and the interest in English. The sample for this study were the students in the Junior Ambassador School of Siheung City. Following the result of the study, The experimental group was more effective in improving the local patriotism and the interest in English than the control group s. The findings of this research were as follows: 1) the local patriotism is of great effect when educated in integrated ways, not focusing on the target of segmental subject fields, 2) English education with topics about the community enables elementary school students to increase their interest in English. These findings will surmount the class limitation of specific textbooks and textbook-centered localization class, and be a very useful foundation that provides practical methods in teaching students their community.
