2009 개정교육과정 중학교 사회ㆍ도덕 교과서에 나타난 장애관련 내용 분석

Analysis of Disability-related Contents in the Middle School Ethics and Social Study Textbook under 2009 Revised Curriculum

본 연구는 2009 개정교육과정 중학교 사회ㆍ도덕 교과서에 나타난 장애관련 내용을 분석하여 교과서에 수록된 장애에 관한 내용이 적절하게 기술되었는지를 살펴보고, 향후 장애에 대한 올바른 인식과 긍정적인 태도 형성을 위한 교육과정 및 교과서 개발에 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위해 2009 개정교육과정 중학교 사회ㆍ도덕 교과서 24권을 대상으로, 이들 교과서에 수록된 장애 관련 내용을 제시 형태, 장애 유형, 장애관련 주제, 장애인관 등의 분석 준거에 따라 내용 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 결과는 첫째, 2009 개정교육과정 중학교 사회ㆍ도덕 교과서에 나타난 장애관련 내용의 제시 형태는 사회ㆍ도덕 교과서 모두 삽화가 가장 많은 비중을 차지하였고, 내용, 용어 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 2009 개정교육과정 중학교 사회ㆍ도덕 교과서에 나타난 장애유형은 지체장애가 가장 많았고, 장애일반, 시각장애 순으로 많이 나타났다. 셋째, 2009 개정교육과정 중학교 사회 교과서에 나타난 장애관련 내용의 주제는 개인의 다양성 및 인권존중이 가장 많았고, 보조도구 및 편의시설 순으로 나타났으나, 장애체험활동과 장애관련 인물은 제시되지 않았다. 도덕 교과서의 경우, 개인의 다양성 및 인권존중이 가장 많았고, 장애관련 인물, 보조도구 및 편의 시설, 장애체험활동 순으로 많이 나타났다. 넷째, 2009 개정교육과정 중학교 사회ㆍ도덕 교과서에 나타난 장애인관은 수혜자로서의 장애인관이 주체자로서의 장애인관 보다 더 많이 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze all 24 volumes of the authorized middle school social study and ethics textbook ①, ② under 2009 revised curriculum published by 9 publishers and study of presentation forms for disability-related contents, disability types, disability-related subjects and perception of person with disability in the textbooks. The following is the conclusions suggested by the results of this research. First, in terms of presentation form of disability-related contents, there were illustrations, main texts and vocabularies, in the order of more frequency appearances, for both social study and ethics textbook. Second, in terms of disability types that appeared in the disability-related contents in the middle school social study and ethics textbook under 2009 revised curriculum, physical disability accounted for the highest share, followed by general disability and visual impairment. However, learning disability and communication disability, the disability types mentioned in the Special Education Laws (2008) for person with disability, did not appear in the textbooks. Third, the most frequently appeared subjects of disability-related contents in the middle school social study and ethics textbook under 2009 revised curriculum were individual diversity and respect for human rights, followed by description of people with disability, assist devices and convenience facilities, famous person with disability and physical disability experience programs. Fourth, in terms of the perception of person with disability that appeared in the middle school social study and the ethics textbook under 2009 revised curriculum, perception of people with disability as beneficiary of special benefits appeared twice more frequently than perception of them as an independent person.
