충청북도 기숙형 중학교 환경 및 운영에 대한 IPA 분석

IPA Analysis of the Environment and Operation of Boarding Middle Schools in Chungcheongbuk-do: Students Perception

본 연구는 충청북도 기숙형 중학교의 환경 및 운영에 대하여 학생들이 인식하는 실행도와 만족도의 차이는 어떠한지, 그리고 가장 우선적으로 개선해야 하는 요인은 무엇인지를 모색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 특히, 충청북도 기숙형 중학교인 속리산중학교와 괴산오성중학교에 차이가 있는지를 알아보기 위하여 학교별 IPA 분석을 실시하였다. 조사대상은 291명의 기숙형 중학교에 재학 중인 학생이고, 자료는 IPA 분석기법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, ‘교사들 간의 의사소통’, ‘깨끗한 환경의 기숙사’ 등 6개 항목을 제외한 모든 항목에서 실행도에 비해 만족 수준이 유의하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 충청북도 기숙형 중학교 전체를 대상으로 IPA 분석결과, 제2사분면에 포함된 항목은 없었으나 제3사분에 포함된 ‘교사의 책임의식’, ‘충분한 면적의 기숙사’, ‘기숙형 중학교 생활 규정’, ‘교사들의 학생들 의견청취와 반영’ 등이 장기적으로 고려해야 할 사항으로 도출되었다. 셋째, 속리산중학교의 경우 기숙사 생활 규정 등 기숙사와 관련한 항목들이 장기적으로 개선되어야 할 항목들로 도출되었고, 괴산오성중학교는 교과교육을 위한 충분한 교사의 수를 늘리고 교사들의 능력향상을 위한 의지가 가장 우선적으로 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in student perceptions of performance and satisfaction with regard to the environment and operation of boarding middle schools in Chungcheongbuk-do, as well as the factors that should be given priority in efforts for improvement. In particular, Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) was performed for each school to examine the differences between two boarding middle schools in Chungcheongbuk-do - Songnisan Middle School and Goesan Osung Middle School. The subjects were 291 students enrolled in boarding middle schools, and IPA was used to analyze the data. The results of this study are as follows. First, for all items except six, including ’communication among teachers’ and ’clean environment of the dormitory’, the level of satisfaction was shown to be significantly lower compared to the level of performance. Second, in the IPA results of all boarding middle schools in Chungcheongbuk-do, no items were included in Quadrant II. However, the items included in Quadrant III, such as ’teachers’ sense of responsibility’, ’sufficient dormitory area’, ’boarding middle school dormitory regulations”, and ’teachers’ attention to and reflection of student opinion’, were found to be the issues that should be considered in the long term. Third, for Songnisan Middle School, items related to the dormitory such as resident regulations were found to be the items needing long-term improvement. In the case of Goesan Osung Middle School, increasing the number of teachers for the curriculum and commitment to improving teacher ability were shown to be the needs highest in priority.
