주5일 수업제에 따른 초등학교 연간수업시수의 개선방향 탐색

A study on the improvement of annual instructional time for five-schooldays-a week system at elementary school

이 연구는 주5일 수업제에 따른 초등학교 연간수업시수의 개선 방향을 탐색하는 것을 그 목적으로 하였다. 이 연구에서는 교육법, 국가수준 초등학교 교육과정 문서,단위 초등학교의 교육과정 시간 운영 사례를 분석하였다. 연구자는 주5일 수업제에 따른 초등학교 연간수업시수의 개선방향에 대하여 다음의 제안을 한다. 첫째, 현행 34주 기준으로 되어 있는 초등학교 교육과정 기준 주수를 조정할 필요가 있다. 이와함께, 교육과정 기준 주수와 수업일수를 일치시키는 방안을 함께 검토할 필요가 있 다. 둘째, 주5일 수업제의 단위 학교의 안정적 정착을 위하여, 초등학교 교육과정 문서에 연간 총 수업 시수뿐만 아니라 주당 평균 최소 수업 시수를 제시할 필요가 있다. 이것은 단위 초등학교에서 주5일 수업제에 따른 교육과정 시간 운영의 혼란을 방지하고, 교육과정의 충실한 운영을 위해서 필요하다. 셋째, 초등학교 기준 수업 시수를 45분으로 확대하거나, 교육활동과 관련된 쉬는 시간 10분을 포함하여, 50분으로 조정하여 제시할 필요가 있다. 이것은 현행 초등학교 교육과정의 연간수업시수를 증가시키지 않더라도, 초등학교의 수업 시수를 실질적으로 증가시키는 기능을 한다. 넷째, 초등학교 저학년의 수업 시수는 현행 유지 및 확대를, 고학년의 수업 시수는 축소를 검토할 필요가 있다. 이 연구에서 제안한 초등학교 연간수업시수의 개선방향이 국가 사회적 요구와 단위 학교의 현장을 종합적으로 검토하여, 주5일 수업제의 안정적인 정착에 기여하기를 기대한다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate annual instructional time for five-schooldays-a week system at elementary school. To achieve these aims, the study reviewed literature about educational law, korean national curriculum and elementary school curriculum. The results of this study were as follows. Firstly, it tried to improve the five-schooldays-a-week system in terms of setting annual instructional time. As an alternative to the current system, this study proposed a 38 week plan instead of the current 34 week plan in implementing annual instructional time. Secondly, the curriculum timetable presented the annual total number of instructional time, as well as weekly average instructional time. Thirdly, one class period for elementary school suggested 45 or 50 minutes to be adequate. Finally, the annual instructional time of 1-2 grade for elementary school needs to be maintained or increased, but 3-6 grade needs to be reduced.
